In-person ticket sales take place at the R.H. Johnson Box Office, located at Member Services on the R.H. Johnson Recreation Center at 19803 N. R.H. Johnson Blvd, Sun City West, AZ 85375, Open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Questions? Reach out to 623-544-6093
Listeners will enjoy a wide variety of pieces, including “Music of the Night” from Phantom of the Opera, Mancini’s “Moon River” from Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Sousa’s “Semper Fidelis” march, and “California Dreamin'” by the Mamas and the Papas. The group will host a Q&A segment, introduce the silver flute family, and pass around a demonstration flute and piccolo for the audience to examine up close.
At CAFE, we actively engage with our listeners! For example, rather than a printed program, we take turns standing up to introduce our music with interesting tidbits about the song and composer, and a dash of humor.
We introduce and demonstrate the silver flute family: contrabass, bass, alto, C-flute and piccolo. Audience members get to have a hands-on experience when we send around our demonstration flute and piccolo.
Additionally, listeners will connect with us during a Q&A session that is always spontaneous and fun.
Look forward to:
- Instrument introductions: each flute will be heard individually and then showcased as part of the flute choir sound
- Friendly, clear introductions to each piece along with interesting trivia about the music and composers
- Active engagement with the audience by asking questions, inviting comments, and encouraging singing and clapping.
- Feeling uplifted by sharing the joy of music
After the concert, listeners are invited to see the instruments up close and chat with the performers.
