Celebrate the season with a mixture of international carols, traditional melodies, and winter favorites. With a wide range of instruments, captivating tunes, and engaging audience interactions, CAFE concerts are a must-attend for music enthusiasts of all ages.
Enjoy a blend of musical genres focused on the holiday season during this fun, interactive concert presented by a 7-person flute choir. Get an up-close look at the 10-foot-long contrabass flute while learning about music genres and composers.
The flutists take it a step further during the concert by passing around demonstration flutes and piccolos, allowing the audience to experience the instruments firsthand.
Listeners will see the musicians’ faces, hear their voices during the introductions, and deepen their connection with the performers during a Q&A session. They introduce and demonstrate the silver flute family: contrabass, bass, alto, C-flute and piccolo
Look forward to:
- Instrument introductions: each flute will be heard individually and then showcased as part of the flute choir sound
- Friendly, clear introductions to each piece along with interesting trivia about the music and composers
- Active engagement with the audience by asking questions, inviting comments, and encouraging singing and clapping.
- Feeling uplifted by sharing the joy of music
After the concert, listeners are invited to see the instruments up close and chat with the performers.
Free, not tickets needed, first-come, first seated! Ample parking. This will be a repeat of the program presented at Peoria’s Sunrise Mountain Library at 11:00AM the same day. The free concerts are funded through an Arts and Culture Grant from the City of Peoria.
